AfDB

The African Development Bank (AfDB) is Africa’s premier development finance institution, dedicated to promoting sustainable economic growth and reducing poverty across the continent. Established in 1964, the Bank provides financial and technical support to transformative projects that enhance infrastructure, energy access, private sector development, and regional integration among other things.

Through its New Deal on Energy for Africa, AfDB is committed to achieving universal energy access by 2030, supporting investments in renewable energy, clean cooking, and electricity grid expansion. As a key partner in Mission 300, the AfDB is committed to this cause by helping African nations achieve universal electricity coverage. Through financing, technical assistance, and policy advisory, the Bank plays a pivotal role in mobilizing resources, fostering public-private partnerships, and driving clean energy initiatives to power Africa’s future. The Bank collaborates with governments, the private sector, and development partners to drive impactful energy sector reforms and catalyze investments that improve livelihoods.
