The EBRD is investing in changing people’s lives. Since 1991 we have invested over €210 billion in more than 7,400 projects, including a combined total of €21 billion in Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia since 2012. With an emphasis on working with the private sector, we invest in projects and engage in policy dialogue which foster innovation and contribute to making economies more competitive, well governed, green, inclusive, resilient and integrated. The EBRD is in the process of expanding its activities into six countries in sub-Saharan Africa. A leading financier, the Bank is active in the energy sector, with more than 4.2 GW of wind and solar capacity financed in 2024 and over 4.2 GW of installed capacity financed in Africa since 2012. The EBRD is owned by 75 countries as well as the European Union and the European Investment Bank.
