African Atlantic Gas Pipeline opens financing talks with US EXIM and the World Bank
Morocco's ambassador to Washington confirmed the discussions to Bloomberg on 25 July, six days after ECOWAS heads of state signed the intergovernmental agreement in Freetown. South Africa’s wholesale electricity market is due to open before the end of September
NTCSA moved the launch from 1 April to the third quarter after an assessment with NERSA found more work was needed on operational and regulatory readiness. The regulator granted the company its Market Operator Licence in December, and only certified participants will be able to trade.

The South African Reserve Bank has linked structural macroeconomic strains to a 65 per cent decline in national petroleum refining operations. As processing assets idle, central bank governors trace an incremental R76 billion fuel import cost that exposes localised distribution networks to volatile global maritime product channels.
