By placing generation close to demand, the model reduces reliance on long-distance transmission and lowers costs for energy-intensive operations.

The interview also highlights strong US–Liberia cooperation, with Sun Africa positioned as a natural partner to develop large-scale renewable infrastructure. While navigating government processes remains a key challenge for projects of this scale, the company is moving forward following the MoU-deploying upfront development capital and working closely with Liberian ministries to shape a project aligned with national energy and industrial priorities.
