Darren has over 20 years of experience in sales and account management in the travel and hospitality industries. Throughout his career, he has developed strong experience working with clients, building relationships and identifying new business opportunities.

He joined EnergyNet in September 2026 as a Business Development Executive, where he is excited to begin a new chapter within the events industry. What particularly attracted him to EnergyNet is its international focus and involvement across Africa, as well as the opportunity to work within a business that brings together senior professionals and organisations from across the energy sector.

Originally from Brighton, Darren has been a Brighton & Hove Albion supporter since he was five years old. Outside of work, he enjoys running, cycling, the gym and playing the guitar, with learning to play the piano being one of his personal goals for 2027.

Eskom has opened a request for qualification to find co-development and co-investment partners for up to 6GW of renewable generation and battery storage, the first phase of its new utility-scale renewables business. Zambia solar capacity passes 1,000MW as Kudu’s 200MW finds a buyer

Zambia has reached its 2026 target of 1,000MW of solar, with 1,027MW now installed, the government told the Energy Forum for Africa in Lusaka. At the same forum, Axian signed a power purchase agreement with Africa GreenCo for the 200MW Kudu plant, whose output will be sold across the Southern African Power Pool.
