David Ansell is a Business Development Executive at EnergyNet, where he focuses on building relationships with companies and key stakeholders across Africa’s energy and infrastructure sectors. With a background in marketing and e-commerce, David enjoys the commercial and relationship-building side of his role, connecting businesses with new opportunities, projects and partnerships across the continent.

Outside of work, David is first and foremost a loving father to his two children and a dedicated family man. He is also an avid Arsenal supporter and proud season-ticket holder. After years of waiting, he was particularly happy to see Arsenal finally become Premier League champions in 2026.

David also loves running and swimming and has taken part in triathlons. He enjoys travelling, discovering new places and meeting people from different backgrounds. He has a keen interest in business, sport and learning about new industries – particularly the people and ideas driving Africa’s energy sector forward.

Zambia solar capacity passes 1,000MW as Kudu’s 200MW finds a buyer

Zambia has reached its 2026 target of 1,000MW of solar, with 1,027MW now installed, the government told the Energy Forum for Africa in Lusaka. At the same forum, Axian signed a power purchase agreement with Africa GreenCo for the 200MW Kudu plant, whose output will be sold across the Southern African Power Pool.
