YSDN partnership brings Damilola Hamid Balogun’s network to YES! Nigeria in November

9th August, 2026

EnergyNet has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Youth Sustainable Development Network to deliver the youth programme running alongside the Nigeria NOW! Global Investors Expo in Abuja. The Expo was launched at the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development on 6 August, with four ministries represented.

The Youth Sustainable Development Network works with young Nigerians across the country on sustainable development and enterprise, and its founder, Damilola Hamid Balogun, will now deliver the youth programme sitting alongside one of the largest investment summits Nigeria has hosted.

EnergyNet has signed a memorandum of understanding with YSDN covering YES! Nigeria, which runs at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja alongside the Nigeria NOW! Global Investors Expo 2026 on 19 and 20 November.

What YSDN brings to it is reach into a constituency that events of this kind rarely convene properly. Access to a room full of ministers, financiers and developers is straightforward to offer and difficult to fill well, and the organisations able to find the right young people are usually the ones already working with them.

The Youth Energy Summit has run within EnergyNet’s calendar for several years. At the Africa Energy Forum in Cape Town in June, South Africa’s energy minister spent an hour taking questions directly from the young people attending, which is a different proposition from a keynote delivered at them, and it is the format the Nigerian edition is built on.

Nigeria NOW! is a maiden edition, launched at a press conference at the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development on 6 August under the patronage of the Honourable Minister, Dr Dele Alake, with the Ministries of Power, Works, and Trade and Investment represented alongside it. It covers mining, infrastructure, finance and the fiscal reforms of the past three years together, which is a wider brief than an energy summit and a wider set of careers to walk into.

Further detail on the programme, including how places will be allocated, is expected in the coming weeks.
