Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS)

The Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit professional organisation representing more than 15,000 geoscientists, mining engineers and industry practitioners in Nigeria and internationally.

Established in 1961, NMGS advances Nigeria’s geoscience and mining professions through capacity building, research, policy advocacy, knowledge sharing and multi-stakeholder engagement.

The Society has statutory representation on the Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG) and the Board of the Nigeria Geological Survey Agency (NGSA). It also publishes the Journal of Mining and Geology and organises an annual international conference and exhibition.

Zimbabwe’s net metering reaches 118MW, from 2.1MW at the end of 2021

Households, farms and factories with grid-tied solar now feed 118MW into Zimbabwe's network under net metering, according to ZESA's acting chief executive. Participants export up to 5MW each and are paid in credits rather than cash, with ZETDC deferring connection fees until March 2027 to draw more of them in.

Lobito Corridor power study funded by USTDA with Anzana Electric Group
