Ministry of Energy, Ghana

The Ministry of Energy (MoEn) of Ghana is the principal governmental body responsible for the development, regulation, and management of the nation’s energy sector. Established in 1957, the Ministry’s mission is to ensure the provision of reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy services to all sectors of the economy. This includes overseeing the exploration, development, and production of oil and gas resources, as well as the generation and distribution of electricity. The Ministry also plays a pivotal role in promoting renewable energy initiatives, such as the Scaling-Up Renewable Energy Programme (SREP), which aims to electrify off-grid communities and enhance energy access across the country. Under the leadership of Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, the Ministry is committed to strengthening local manufacturing, ensuring energy security, and fostering sustainable industrial growth in Ghana.
